Thanks guys. The trailer is ver.1 because I'm
waiting for quite a bit of media people have
submitted for it to arrive, e.g. live in Japan and
Roadcrew DVDs, etc.
I'm aiming for 24/26 minutes, so if it gets
picked up by a broadcaster then there's room
for the commercials.
Hazardus Maximus: I couldn't give you a figure,
mate, not without pre-production discussions.
Although, for the sake of conversation, I would
imagine that the production stage wouldn't be too
expensive if the crew (whether it's just myself or
2 or 3 of us) weren't staying in hotels. Post-
production costs can literally be any amount, I
suppose, depending on how fancy-pants you wanted
it.

Downloading it now. I listened to the debut Vain CD for the first time in years. I forgot how good that was!
Good stuff Darren!
Shit, I wish you lived closer, I'd love to get you involved in doing a McRackins DVD/Retropective. I'll flip you a PM as I'd like to know how expensive it would be to do that.

Darronius Grammaticus:
Let me explain this a bit better. We have about about 8 DVD's of footage, Eurotour, ill fated US tour, TV appearances, videos etc. We are wanting to make a DVD compilation of all this stuff. I was going to venture into it myself and get into the editing, but frankly don't have the time these days with work and music absorbing the lot.
So we're looking for someone to do this project. We will either release it ourselves, or get an indie label to put it out who has good distro. So it will basically be someone editing and compiling all the footage. Making it flow nicely would be a lovely touch.

Then your costs are still primarily postproduction:
1) Editing, colour correction (luma, broadcast
colours etc., no doubt)
2) Motion graphics/CGI (even a tiny spinning logo
is counted as such)
3) DVD authoring (Encore? Scenarist? Lab Pro?
Apple?)
4) Production of transition films linking DVD
content.
And basic per-hour costs I suppose.
Lots to think about.
